Legal Compliance

Compliance is one of the most important issues among the societal demands placed on a company. Today, companies treat compliance as a major premise in their business practices, and in order for DAIICHI KOGYO to continue to keep the trust it receives from society, it is important that DAIICHI KOGYO continues to create and maintain corporate culture and internal systems that give serious regard to compliance.

At DAIICHI KOGYO, while establishing systems, etc. to exhaustively ensure “compliance of laws and regulations and respect for social norms” in our compliance rules, we follow the code of conduct set forth below as the basic policy for compliance.

Compliance Code of Conduct

  1. We treat compliance as an important issue of company management and ensure it is exhaustively undertaken.
  2. We do not partake in endeavors that are revealed as problematic from the perspective of compliance.
  3. We continually provide ample education to both executives and employees.
  4. We strictly and continually carry out evaluation of the situation regarding compliance.
  5. When compliance violations occur, we honestly recognize the facts and promptly act to put in place measures to rectify the situation and measures to prevent reoccurrence.

Safety and Health Policy

The aims of business enterprise reside in the actions that contribute to both the perpetuity of such enterprise and society, and an important and essential precondition for such aims is the protection of safety and health.

At DAIICHI KOGYO, in order to realize our management philosophy, we obtain the participation of our employees and the cooperation of relevant personnel from cooperating companies and actively promote the following matters.

  1. To raise awareness toward safety and eradicate “letting one's guard down out of familiarity” and “carelessness,” we shall again this year continue to provide safety education for employees and relevant personnel from cooperating companies.
  2. To eliminate all dangerous harmful factors in the workplace with the aim of pursuing zero-accident/zero-disaster and eradicating facility accidents, we ensure that PDCA cycles are functioning under the participation of everyone, including the employees of our company and the relevant personnel from cooperating companies, and strive to further improve occupational safety and health, and enhance management systems for quality control.
  3. In addition to complying with Safety and Health Rules that our company has established based on the various related laws and regulations, most notably the Industrial Safety and Health Act, we carry out activities to predict potential dangers using risk assessment and ensure safety and health for all relevant personnel.
  4. The employees of DAIICHI KOGYO and the relevant personnel of cooperating companies will work together to develop a comfortable workplace environment, and by being aware of the health statuses of all personnel, we strive to prevent illness.
